LA TREK

On Monday, October 13th and Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, a group of thirty-five MMBC members traveled to Los Angeles, California to gain a firsthand look into the massive West Coast entertainment industry.

Our two-day itinerary was packed with visits to major companies across the music, film, and talent spheres, allowing our members to engage directly with industry professionals in various departments.

Monday kicked off in Culver City at Sony, where we met with multiple speakers to discuss their diverse roles within the company's vast structure. We then moved to the Live Nation office in Beverly Hills, where a panel of experts working in Global Touring Systems, Ticketing Operations, Tour Marketing, and Pricing & Analytics offered deep insights into the mechanics of the live music business. Following a group lunch, our final afternoon visit was to The Group (Hayman's company), where we were inspired by a discussion led by MMBC legend Jonathan Hayman. The day concluded with an invaluable evening networking session at Dean Kossoff’s, a MMBC alum's, residence.

Tuesday was spent exploring Santa Monica, starting the morning at Universal Music Group (UMG). We toured their vast campus, which houses entities like UMPG, VYBE, Darkroom, and Interscope, and discussed the complex interplay between different arms of a major music corporation. In the afternoon, we visited United Talent Agency (UTA), a premier talent agency, where we discussed how college students can best position themselves for success in their desired industry roles.

The journey to Los Angeles was a truly unique and enriching experience, greatly expanding our members’ practical knowledge of the entertainment industry. We extend our sincerest gratitude to all the speakers and hosts involved and look forward to building on these connections in the future!
